I enjoy working with my hands. I have since I was a kid helping dad in the wood shop. And like they say, "If you do what you love you'll never work a day in your life". So I'm trying to earn a living doing what I love. A large part of that is woodwork; boxes, jewelry and maybe larger pieces like desks and tables.
To support the woodwork I've also learned a bit of blacksmithing. The primary purpose was to build hand tools that the commercial versions commonly don't work well or don't fit my hand. I can also do some custom work at the forge, but I don't have the means to do large pieces in iron.
I also do some other metal work such as silversmithing. My initial interest in silversmithing was to be able to embelish my woodwork, but I have done some jewelry in silver as well.
